The amount of trash entering our storm-water drains and waterways has become so large that it is virtually impossible to quantify. Current Collections is a nationally and internationally recognized inquiry-based, experiential public art sculpture calling attention to this crisis in a solutions-oriented way. This sculpture and community-engagement project increases our awareness of urban litter issues, stimulates litter-reduction behaviors and inspires us to positive civic action.

The Current Collections Project supports the Clean Communities – Clean Coasts outreach campaign, which integrates community beach & coastal cleanup efforts with public and college environmental awareness forums and youth after-school STEM & art education programs. Clean Communities – Clean Coasts engages youth, locals and tourists in communities on the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay of Pinellas county, Florida and the city of Atlanta, Georgia.
